It is marketed and grows basically as a "Hydroponics" plant which means it grows very well in water without need of soils. By just put it in a decorative container with (or without) rock, marbles, polished stones to keep the plant upright and water in the bottom. And it last much longer than fresh cut flowers.
Lucky Bamboo adapts to a new environment easily. As it is a small plant, low light to bright indirect sunlight suits them well. It prefers temperatures ranging from 45-90 F. The care of Lucky Bamboo is quite easy. Therefore can be an ideal decorating plant in your home. And the name "Lucky Bamboo" can also be used as good luck gift. for example Asian people use Lucky Bamboo instead of flower bouquet as a gift to celebrate Chinese New Year day, Business Grand opening, New Home, or just a pure good luck. There are several Spiritual meanings for Lucky Bamboo. In Thailand we call this plant "Guan Im plant" or "Quan Yin" or "Kwan Yin" which is the name of the Chinese goddess of Compassion and Mercy. Lucky Bamboo available in different sizes of forms. The standard length available are 30-50-60-70-90 cm for size S-M-L-LL-LLL respectively.
